The Scottish style Crest Badge, is a heraldic style badge used to show allegiance to an individual or membership in an organization and are known to have been is use since the latter Middle ages. Historically, they are most often associated with Clans. In our case there was never any known "Clan Jam?son," therefore there has never been an official Jam?son clan badge. However, nowadays our "Jam?son Family Network" association is about as close as we will ever be to a clan, given our bond is by the name, if not by blood (DNA). So the use of this badge, even if considered a "Jam?son Clan Badge" seems entirely appropriate.

Crest Badges consist of a heraldic crest, surrounded by a motto/slogan, taken from the appropriate coat of arms and displayed within a strap belt like facsimile, including an ornate buckle and toe. The use of a 'strap' is a heraldic tradition for use by 'followers' loyal to the person, or organization, for whom the crest may represent.

Our crest is an ancient ship in full sail proper it's pennons flying Or with a sail per saltire Azure and Argent in chief an anchor Or. Our motto "Multi Diversarum Orisinum" is Latin for "From Many Different Origins." Our use also includes a banner with our surname "Jam?son" as a way to to most clearly identify our badge.
